A individual charged with pursuing Kate McCann apparently left her a voicemail message which questioned: "suppose I am Madeleine?"

Julia Wandelt, 24, who witnesses stated has repeatedly declared she was the missing Madeleine McCann, and Karen Spragg are standing trial charged with harassing Kate and Gerry McCann from June 2022 and February this year.

On Monday, the tribunal heard phone records and information retrieved from phones logged Ms Wandelt consistently asking Madeleine's mother for a genetic test over the past two years.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - at the age of three during a family holiday in Portugal - is one of the most widely reported missing child cases and remains unresolved.

'I Don't Want Money'

One voicemail, shared in court, documented Ms Wandelt stating: "I know I'm overweight and not pretty like Madeleine had been, but I believe what I feel."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's voicemail expressed: "Imagine there is a small chance that I am Madeleine? What happens next? Is that not significant for you?"

"I don't want money, I possess a life here in Poland, I simply desire to know," the recording stated.

The panel was informed that by means of electronic messages, SMS messages and communications, Ms Wandelt demanded a biological test, sent early photographs to her phone in a attempt to display a likeness to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and claimed to have "recollections" from a childhood with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an intelligence analyst with the police force who collated the data, told the court there "seemed to lack any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally contacted close associates of the McCanns, based on the call data.

On that date, the father responded to a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "incorrect contact information."
