Esteemed Star Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Dies at Age 60.

Stateside actor Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic programs such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.

The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in Los Angeles on Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, as reported by reports.

"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives stated in a message.

They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".

A Prolific Television Career

His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.

He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a social organizer known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.

In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of hit series, including:

  • King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • "That '70s Show"
  • "House"

His most famous role for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series from 2011 to 2018.

His work in movies include It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".

Beyond the Screen

Away from his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was part of a comedy group of six named "Beer Shark Mice".

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils over the years and it would be difficult to find someone who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote publicly.

The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
