Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Claims Involving Player the Athlete

The NFL franchise issued a statement on Wednesday evening stating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and were in communication with the league office.

The organization did not mention Rice by name in their statement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Allegations Posted on Instagram

The woman, who also did not mention Rice directly, posted a series of photos on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She did say the person involved was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.

Police Reports Currently Unavailable

No official complaints were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.

Rice's Recent Legal Issues

Rice was absent for the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that resulted in multiple people injured. He was given 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to felony charges.

Statistically, Rice finished the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
